In the context of climate change, zoos are an important place to observe the relationship between sustainability and human development. By analyzing risks and vulnerabilities, these recreational centers can educate visitors on the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The objective of this study was to investigate the perceptions of professionals and social servants working in centers that house endangered species. The study used an exploratory, correlational, and cross-sectional approach with a sample size of 100 participants. The results showed that the public administration of zoos was associated with several SDGs including poverty reduction, gender equality, clean and affordable energy, responsible production and consumption, and life on land. Furthermore, the study recommends the inclusion of Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management (GIRD) in the analysis of risks and vulnerabilities in captive species scenarios
